FRAMED A2 SCREENPRINTS

Habitat (U.K.) seems to have very regular promotions on their range of frames. I've paid a lot of money before at various places to have work mounted up and put in custom brushed metal frames, its an expensive business. When i spotted Habitat was having another sale a couple of weeka ago i purchased one of the "Bacall" frames from their range. At £40 i thought i would be worth a go to try out some of the new portrait pieces i'd been working on. These frames actually come with real glass as opposed to plexi-glass a lot of budget frames come with. Glass is always preferable for the silkscreen prints i produce, the work always look a looks much sharper and allows the layers of inks to be seen much more easily.

Working 'Portrait' on these new screenprint productions and filling much more of the available space on the sheet required some modifications on the printing press. Its always a bit nerve racking messing about with the current set-up but its something i've been wanting to do for a while. I'm pleased to say the engineering work was spot on and everything now works better than before! The prints in the 'Bacall' frame you see in the photograph are part of a new series i've produced which are from the "Test Tones' and 'Driftworks' series......
