Prototype of Glass Siren Studio's custom built U.V. exposure unit

This is the prototype version of the new ultra violet exposure unit that i've been building over the last couple of months. I needed to speed up the production process of creating screens when producing new silkscreen work. The old process was taking around 15 minutes each time, this new unit now exposes the photo sensitive emulsion in 60 - 80 seconds. Its taken a phenomenal amount of trial and error work to get this working perfectly but thankfully its complete now. The printing presses industrial vacuum runs through this unit to hold the film positives in place between the glass when its powered up. There's so much pressure inside this beast it sounds like a jet plane taking off when operating. Its maybe a little over the top in terms of power but the amount of time i've lost of the last decade with the old ghetto process was sheer madness. Here's to a more efficient, streamline future........ x
